Fertilizer Custom Applicator

Scott Cooperative is currently accepting applications for a full time Custom Applicator at our Fertilizer Department.  A successful candidate should work well with others, display excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic and have a willingness to learn.

Duties
Duties of this position include custom applicating fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. This individual would be responsible for upkeep and repairs for the rig and equipment used, would be responsible for understanding and complying with safety and governmental regulations, would be responsible for having a basic knowledge of chemicals and their abilities of control, and would also be responsible for providing positive customer service and co-employee relations. Other essential duties of this position include assisting on other projects in the fertilizer department and performing other tasks assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience needed. Must have a custom applicator’s license, a Class A commercial license with hazmat, air bakes, and a Tanker endorsement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk or sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feed; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel crouch and smell.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
